Sequoyah High Spreads Holiday Cheer to Cottage House Residents

CANTON, GA -- Sequoyah High School's chapter of the National Honor Society had fun decorating and filling Christmas stockings for 21 residents of the Cottage House, an orphanage for children ages nine to 17.

NHS officers Allie O'Hara, MacKenzie Gloeggler, Maddie Richardson and Amanda Hershberger collected monetary donations from club members and went shopping for stocking stuffers. After they decorated the stockings, students took digital pictures of each other with their projects and created personalized greeting cards and notes of cheer, which were added to the stockings before delivery.

Although the chapter decorates and stuffs stockings for Cottage House every year, this was the first year the club was able to provide a stocking for every child at the orphanage.
