WEEKEND EVENTS: Circus Clowns and Beauty Queens | Arts & Culture
NORTHERN METRO AREA – There are tons of fun events going on this weekend, in your area. We’ve listed a few of them for you to check out with your family and friends.
Today, the Yaarab Shrine kicks off their 69th Annual Circus and Carnival at the Jim R. Miller Park in Marietta. This circus is the world largest shrine circus. Food and rides will be open tonight; however, there will be no circus acts. Only $10 gets you unlimited rides on every ride at the fair.
Sprayberry High school will be hosting a Community Egg Drop on Saturday, April 23 from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Eggs will be dropped from a helicopter and there will be many vendors, including face painting and pictures with the Easter Bunny. This event is free to the community.
The Marietta Square Farmers Market will also be open for business, early Saturday morning.
Kids are admitted free at Medieval Times with the purchase of one full-priced adult admission. The Medieval Times is located at 5900 Sugarloaf Parkway in Lawrenceville.
The Centerville Community Center in Snellville is hosting an Easter Eggstravaganza for children in the community on Friday, April 22. Kids will be able to enjoy face painting and an Easter Egg Hunt. Kids aged 0-3 will be admitted at 10:30 a.m. Children aged 4-6 are admitted at 11:20 a.m. and kids aged 7-10 will be admitted at noon.

Witness the crowning of the next Miss Black Athens-Clarke County Teen Pageant at the Morton Theatre in Athens. This pageant, in its 36th year, features contestants, aged 13-18, from all over the Athens-Clarke County area. The pageant will be held on Sunday, April 24 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Admission to this event is $15, at the door.
