Woodstock Welcomes You! Buttercup's Closet

Woodstock Welcomes You! Buttercup's Closet

“Woodstock Welcomes You!” is a weekly article from 11Alive.com about a local business getting involved in the community. This week, we’re interviewing Tammy Willis, owner of Buttercup’s Closet (http://buttercupscloset.com/)  located near the Bridge Mill Community. Buttercup’s Closet is a children’s boutique with new and re-sale children’s and maternity clothing.

Tammy, a home spun Georgia girl from Calhoun, obviously has a knack for this business.

“I saw a need for an outlet that provided quality children’s clothing in our area, especially since The Funky Monkey closed.” Tammy told us. Buttercup’s Closet isn’t a large chain, just a simple little business trying to fit into the community.”

The New Marketing Model; Companies Look to Fractional Marketing Officers to Drive Business Growth

‘Chief Outsiders’ Fractional CMO Firm Expands to Atlanta with Focus on Mid-Sized Businesses

Marketing drives business growth, and today’s companies are looking to “fractional’ marketing officers as a cost-effective way to deliver increased profits.  Chief Outsiders, a company that provides top-level Chief Marketing Officers to businesses on just such a fractional basis, expanded to Atlanta this month.  With a focus on helping mid-sized companies in Atlanta grow, the company has added three locally-based senior marketing executives.

Many mid-sized companies view marketing solely as a promotional function, while larger companies deploy a more strategic and holistic approach.

Graduation season kicked off a little early for 20 students from 13 Atlanta-area schools who participated in the construction industry’s ACE Mentor Program, an effort to encourage high school students to explore careers in the design and construction industry.  The students received awards and scholarships at a graduation ceremony April 27 at the offices of Turner Construction Company in Buckhead.

Founded by the principals of leading design and construction firms, the ACE (architecture, construction, and engineering) program engages, excites, and enlightens high school students to pursue careers in architecture, construction, and engineering.  Since its inception in 1994, the ACE Mentoring program has introduced more than 30,500 students to the industry through mentoring, scholarships, and grants.

Last week, we spoke with Russ Seifert with Creative Solar USA about their new business in Woodstock. One of Creative Solar USA projects was the on-going construction of the solar parking canopy at Kirk-Rudy, so it only made sense to follow up with Kirk-Rudy on the solar parking canopy and how their business impacts Woodstock.

This week, we met with Rick Marshall, president of Kirk-Rudy, Inc. Rick starts off with a little background about Kirk-Rudy, ” The company was originally founded outside of Chicago in 1967 by Harry Kirk, who had the inclination to move to Georgia and moved his family to Kennesaw in 1971, where they built their first large facility. ”
