WOODSTOCK, Ga. -- Two faculty members at River Ridge High School in Woodstock have been arrested on charges relating to the sexual assault of a former student.

Robert Leslie Morrow, 28, of Canton turned himself in to Woodstock police Thursday morning. Morrow, a paraprofessional and wrestling coach at River Ridge, performed a sex act with a 16-year-old student in December 2010, according to investigators.

He confessed to the act during an interview with detectives, Woodstock police said.

Investigators also arrested a River Ridge teacher, 32-year-old Kristin May of Canton, at the school district's print shop in Holly Springs Thursday morning. The victim told May about the sexual assault in January, but May failed to report it to police, according to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office.

Both suspects are in custody at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center. Bond has been set at $680 for May and $11,200 for Morrow.

The victim no longer attends school in Cherokee County.

Darrell Herring, principal of River Ridge, released a letter to parents Thursday afternoon:

As principal of River Ridge HS, I want each of you to know that I am deeply concerned by the recent arrest of two River Ridge HS employees and want to assure you that we do not condone or accept unprofessional or inappropriate conduct on the part of our employees. As a staff, we will continue to cooperate fully with the ongoing legal and internal investigations of these two employees and will continue to reinforce the importance of ethical behavior as it relates to the personal and professional conduct of our staff.

Morrow has been placed on administrative leave and May has been reassigned to a position where she will not be in contact with students, according to Cherokee County School District spokeswoman Barbara Jacoby.
