Race this weekend: Tortoise and the Hare | Events
CANTON, Ga. -- Runners of all speeds and skill levels are invited to participate in a half marathon in Cherokee County this weekend.
Tortoise and the Hare Racing's goal is for all participants to cross the finish line at about the same time. Half marathon runners are asked to provide their estimate finish times while registering; their starting times will be assigned based on those predictions. Those who run at tortoise speeds will begin the race first, while "hares" will start last.
The race will be Saturday, Sept. 6 at Boling Park in Canton. Race organizers describe the course as smooth with some rolling hills.
All runners will receive race T-shirts, while finishers will be given custom medals. The top male and female racers will receive spots on the 2015 Tortoise and the Hare Race Team.
Online registration is $55 and closes Wednesday, Sept. 3. Race day sign-up will also be available.

Boling Park is located at 1098 Marietta Highway.
