WOODSTOCK, Ga. -- New York Times bestselling authors Jefferson Bass will make a return visit to FoxTale Book Shoppe on Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 6:30 p.m. Jefferson Bass is the combined names of author Jon Jefferson and Dr. Bill Bass. Their latest novel, Cut to the Bone, continues their hugely popular Body Farm series.

PROBE College Fair coming to Cherokee County

CANTON, Ga. -- The PROBE College Fair will stop in Cherokee County later this month.

The fair, which features representatives from nearly 200 colleges and universities across the country, will be at Cherokee High School on Tuesday, Sept. 24 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

PetSmart to host National Adoption Weekend

PetSmart to host National Adoption Weekend

(WXIA) -- PetSmart Charities is planning a major adoption event at stores nationwide.

National Adoption Weekend will be Sept. 13-15. Thousands of dogs and cats will be available for PetSmart customers to take home.

Adoption representatives will also be on hand to answer questions about caring for a new pet.

PetSmart Charities will give $35 to grants to participating local adoption partners for every pet that finds a new home during National Adoption Weekend.

"We are proud to partner with PetSmart Charities to find lifelong loving homes for thousands of pets this National Adoption Weekend," PetSmart CEO David Lenhardt said.

WOODSTOCK, Ga. -- Music legend Ricky Skaggs is coming to FoxTale Book Shoppe on his Kentucky Traveler book tour on Tuesday, August 27 at 7 p.m.

In Kentucky Traveler, Ricky Skaggs, the music legend who revived modern bluegrass music, gives a warm, honest, one-of-a-kind memoir of forty years in music—along with the Ten Commandments of Bluegrass, as handed down by Ricky’s mentor Bill Monroe; the Essential Guide to Bedrock Country Songs, a lovingly compiled walk through the songs that have moved Skaggs the most throughout his life; Songs the Lord Taught Us, a primer on Skaggs’s most essential gospel songs; and a bevy of personal snapshots of his musical heroes.

Next chamber breakfast to be held Thursday

CANTON, Ga. -- The next Good Morning Cherokee breakfast will be held Thursday, Aug. 1 at the Northside Hospital-Cherokee Conference Center.

The Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce holds a breakfast on the first Thursday of every month, except January and July, to allow local residents and employers to network and learn more about business in Cherokee County.

Thursday's breakfast is $15 in advance or $20 at the door for chamber members, and $25 for non-members. RSVP no later than 5 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30.
