ACWORTH, Ga. – This week, Dinners on a Dime features favorite affordable, neighborhoods eats. Every Tuesday Where U Live will choose four favorite eats in your area for you to take your family and friends for a fabulous meal, under $20.

Bring the entire family to Miss L’s Sandwich Shop for a handcrafted sandwich of your choice.  The shop is situated in historic downtown Acworth and has been there since 2001. Miss L’s only uses Boar’s Head meats and cheeses; they also serve soups, cookies, cakes and ice cream. The restaurant’s menu includes 24 sandwiches but owner Karen Littlefield says, the most popular is the Chicken Ruben served on marble rye. Every sandwich is served with a salad and a pickle for $7.75; all menu items cost less than $10. Miss L’s Sandwich Shop is located at 4817 South Main Street in Acworth.

'Relive the Passover Exodus' at Chabad Jewish Center

KENNESAW, Ga. -- Jewish community members of Cobb, Cherokee and Paulding are invited to participate in Chabad Jewish Center's community Seder on Monday, Apr. 18.

All Jewish residents, regardless of affiliation or background, are encouraged to join an evening that will include the reading of the Four Questions, traditional handmade Matzah, the Four Cups of wine or grape juice and a delicious Kosher meal.

Chabad Rabbi Zalman Charytan and his wife Nechami will facilitate the inter-generational program.

"This Seder is an opportune time to bring unity to the community and just get together to enjoy each others' company," said Rabbi Charytan. "It's the Seder that has kept families together for thousands of years."

The Apr. 18 Seder will begin at 7:30 p.m. at Chabad Jewish Center (1635 Old U.S. Highway 41, Kennesaw, 30152).

Happy Read Across America Day from Knox Elementary!

CANTON, GA -- Wednesday, Mar. 2 marks the 107th birthday of Theodor Seuss Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss.

In his honor, the National Education Association (NEA) created Read Across America Day, an annual movement that encourages children to celebrate books and the power of storytelling.

The students at Knox Elementary School in Canton recognized Read Across America Day with plenty of fun activities, including a pajama party, guest readers and a visit from one of Dr. Seuss's most beloved characters: the Cat in the Hat.

Daddy-Daughter Date Night at Chick-fil-A

ATLANTA -- The 119 Atlanta-area Chick-fil-A restaurants will host a special Daddy-Daughter Date Night on Saturday, Feb. 5.

Fathers and daughters will be encouraged to spend the evening together, enjoying time in the restaurant and participating in activities.

"One of Chick-fil-A's goals is to promote community connections and enrich the lives of everyone we come in contact with," said Robin Lomax, Chick-fil-A area marketing director. "We understand the importance of father-daughter relationships and want to encourage Atlanta community members to take a break from busy schedules, enjoy their loved ones' company over a meal and celebrate the significant relationship in their lives."

Each Chick-fil-A will celebrate in its own way.

Knox Elementary Sponsors Holiday Toy Drive

CANTON, GA -- The Beta Club and Student Council at Knox Elementary School in Canton are sponsoring a holiday toy drive.

Toys for children ages five to 12 are needed. Boxes labeled for donations are located throughout the school. Beta Club and Student Council members will sort the items to assist families in the community.

Donations are being accepted through Friday, Dec. 10.
