CANTON, Ga. -- A driver involved in a February car accident that killed a Texas couple had a blood alcohol content of .218, the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office announced Monday.

Rick Dean Headen, 48, was driving a Ford Focus on Knox Bridge Highway near Canton on Feb. 5 when he crossed the center line and hit a Dodge pickup truck.

Headen and his passenger, 40-year-old Charlotte Ann Sedtal, were killed. The couple's two-month-old baby survived with a broken leg and brain injuries; the child is expected to make a full recovery, according to Cherokee Sheriff's spokesman Howard Baker. The family lived in Sour Lake, Texas.

The two women in the pickup truck survived as well and received treatment for their injuries.

A BAC of .218 is slightly less than three times the legal limit in Georgia, Baker said.
