Fire destroys Canton apartment complex | News
CANTON, Ga. -- Cherokee County fire fighters responded to an apartment complex fire Friday afternoon.
The fire at Canterbury Apartments in Canton was at several different buildings. According to Cherokee County Fire officials, the majority of the fire are was confined to the upper level of the structure.
The building sustained fire, smoke and water damage -- and 25 units were damaged.
According to the Atlanta Red Cross, 46 adults and 10 children are displaced as a result of this fire.
Four residents were treated for smoke inhalation and one female resident transported to Kennestone Hospital with anxiety issues.
The cause remains under investigation. Atlanta Red Cross volunteers provided emergency shelter, bedding and prescription medicine.
