Dog helps rescue companion trapped in local well | News
CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. -- Man's best friend got a little help from his friends, Sunday, in Cherokee County.
Emergency workers responded to a call involving a puppy trapped in a well.
A resident told firefighters that a yellow lab and a black lab showed up on the property the previous day.
Both are believed to be strays.
Sunday morning, the resident heard the black lab barking frantically and discovered his companion trapped in the well.
The pup was freed and checked out by emergency crews. They said the animal appears to be okay.
The two animals were taken to the Cherokee County Animal Shelter where authorities are looking for their owners.
If none are found, the two dogs will be put up for adoption.
