Cherokee Co. deputies investigate second stabbing in matter of hours | News
CANTON, Ga. -- For the second time in only a few hours, deputies in Cherokee County are searching for a stabbing suspect.
Investigators learned of a stabbing victim receiving treatment at Northside Cherokee Hospital Saturday night.
The 43-year-old victim had been stabbed in the back, head and abdomen. Investigators uncovered that the incident unfolded at Waleska Road near Mill Street in Canton at about 8 p.m.
They believe 28-year-old Brian Miller of Canton was responsible. Miller is currently wanted on aggravated assault charges in connection to the Saturday incident. He was last seen in a dark SUV with a cracked windshield.
It’s the second stabbing reported since Saturday morning in Cherokee County.
Sheriff’s official officials said 61-year-old Richard James Sheriff stabbed his roommate, 45-year-old Claudia Santizo, after an argument and then fled the scene.
Santizon was wounded in her neck and arm. She was taken to Kennestone Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
He was last seen driving an older model brownish-gold Toyota.
Anyone with information on either of these suspects is asked to call 911.
