WOODSTOCK, Ga. -- FoxTale Book Shoppe is kicking off their Fox Lunch & Laugh series with New York Times bestselling author, Dorothea Benton Frank, on Tuesday, June 17 at Vingenzo's Pasta & Pizzeria, just a few doors down from FoxTale.

"Dottie Frank loves her visits to Woodstock, and so do we!" FoxTale co-owner Ellen Ward said. "Once again, FoxTale Book Shoppe welcomes Dottie with the release of her newest book ... this reservations-only luncheon is always a great and fun time."

MARIETTA, Ga. -- WellStar Health System has chosen Candice Saunders as its new president and chief operating officer.

Saunders will take over her new role after current president and CEO Reynold Jennings' contract expires on Dec. 31, 2015.

"WellStar is critical and essential to the communities it serves. More than 1.4 million people rely on our services to live a healthy life," Saunders said in a release. "With my new responsibilities, I will provide leadership continuity to ensure that our system continues to play a major role in providing world-class healthcare to the people of metro Atlanta and northwest Georgia for years to come."

Author Carmen Agra Deedy visits Canton ES

CANTON, Ga. -- Students at Canton Elementary School STEM Academy were thrilled when one of their favorite authors visited earlier this month.

Carmen Agra Deedy is a much-loved author of children's books. She has published more than 20 of them, most notably "The Library Dragon" and "Agatha's Feather Bed."

During her visit to Canton, Deedy told some of her most popular stories to students. She also spoke to them about the importance of becoming strong readers, writers and speakers.

Deedy was born in Havana, Cuba and came to the U.S. as a refugee in 1964. She lives in Decatur, where she is constantly honing her storytelling skills.
