Title (Max 100 Characters)
Carmel Elementary School is a busy place and Mrs. Emanuel's class is no exception. As part of Carmel's nationally recognized Learn and Serve program, Mrs. Emanuel’s class recently made homemade dog tug toys to be given to the Cherokee County Humane Society These toys were made with lots of little hands and lots of big hearts and will bring lots of fun for many dogs! The students took assorted colored strips of fleece and braided them together to create the tug toys.
Carmel Elementary is the State School of Character for 2011-2013, an honor which the students and staff are very proud. Assistant Principal Dr. Green oversees the character education and said, “We are so proud of our 1st graders. This project is especially meaningful since they made the toys themselves and really put their hearts and minds into it. Way to go, Colts!”
