ADOPT A PET: Meet Pebbles

MARIETTA, Ga. – If you dream of coming home to a wet nose, wagging tail and tons of kisses (in addition to, perhaps, a half chewed shoe or overturned trashcan) adopt a puppy from your local pet shelter. According to the ASPCA, approximately 5 million to 7 million domesticated animals enter animal shelters nationwide, every year, and approximately 3 million to 4 million are euthanized. However, you can change those numbers but adopting a “companion” for yourself or your family. Pets are an investment but, in our opinion, an investment well worth the money.

Pebbles is a six-month-old Australian Cattle Dog/Great Dane mix and she’s available for adoption from the Humane Society of Cobb County. At six months, Pebbles is already growing, fairly quickly; the average Australian Cattle Dog can grow to be, as much as, 62 pounds; and the average Great Dane grows to, nearly, 120 pounds. She’s black, all over, with a white marking on her chest. She is described as a “shy” dog and will, more than likely, need to be fenced in. Also, it is suggested that this dog be adopted to a home without cats and young children.

If one should choose to adopt a pet from the Humane Society of Cobb County, adoption fees include: vaccinations and de-worming, a veterinarian visit, a microchip and surgical sterilization. And, a list of the basic requirements for adoption can be found here.
