Author, Former K-9 Policeman to Visit Canton Bookstore

CANTON, GA -- Former K-9 police manhunter and local author Jeff Schettler will be at Yawn's Books & More (210 East Main Street, Canton, 30114) on Saturday, Jan. 8 at 11:00 a.m.

He will be promoting his 2009 book, Red Dog Rising, and presenting a slideshow about his work.

Schettler is a well-known dog trainer and retired K-9 policeman who wrote Red Dog Rising about his 11 years of groundbreaking work with Ronin, his Bloodhound K-9 partner. The pair was once attached to the FBI's Hostage Rescue Team's K-9 Assistance Program.

In his talks, Schettler accounts how he trained the first bloodhound in the Alameda (California) Police Department and solved some of the most notorious and high-profile crimes in the state in the 1990s.
