Sequoyah HS grad wins prom duct tape contest

CANTON, Ga. -- Recent Sequoyah High School graduate Caden Kluge is this year's national winner of the Duck brand Stuck at Prom Scholarship Contest.

The annual event encourages high school students to fashion their prom attire from duct tape. Kluge and his prom date, Ashton Woolen, eached received $5,000 scholarships for their creativity. Sequoyah High also received a $5,000 prize.

Duck Brand described the couple's outfits as a fusion of "Victorian style with modern day fashion ... The overall design and intricate vine-and-flower pattern resulted in a Duck Tape creation that could grace the halls of a 19th-century ballroom or a 21st-century red carpet."

Kluge and Woolen, both of Woodstock, won the contest after receiving the most votes on the Stuck at Prom website. Visit stuckatprom.com to see all the finalists.
