CANTON, Ga. -- Teasley Middle School has launched its very own radio program.

Parents who arrive at the Canton school to pick up, drop off or visit students are encouraged to set their car radios to 107.7 FM to listen to the new Raider Radio.

The project was launched to teach students about careers in the radio industry.

"The whole purpose of Raider Radio is to spotlight the students and the school, and to keep parents informed," Teasley principal Dr. Susan Zinkil said.

Elizabeth Erikson, a 7th grader, was one of Raider Radio's first DJs.

"I was a little nervous, but I thought it was cool to be on the radio," she said.

The radio program plans to begin recognizing the school's Partners in Education in the near future.
